All the silly little things that you say I’m not doing. All the silly little thoughts that you’ve got stewing. I think you make them up just to have another go. I think you lay ‘em on thick to bring me down to my toes. You Confuse You. Oh yes, yes you do too. Things are looking up when we’re living together. Coming on to now, disregarding the weather. I’m trying my best but you don’t think so. Working in love she says I’m much to slow. You Confuse You. Oh yes, yes you do too. It seems very easy for you to disease me. Make me think that I’m bad. When you’re feeling so sad. The best love I’ve ever had. Telling friends I’m so glad. And she calls her Pa Chad. The best love I ever had. So then here we are back on the topic. Take a look at the picture and don’t you crop it. When you’re in need well I’ll always be there. When I’m in trouble I know you’re always fair. And don’t you ever confuse you. No, yes, yes you do too.

I’m always on guard for the worst. Meanwhile my heart sleeps beneath a curse. To change what’s changed is to remain the same. To always take the blame is a silly little game. I know we are each onto ourselves. But what could be worse than having no one else. My favourite game is to pretend. That I could be time and you could be never end. I know I should be missing, The lips I long to be kissing. When is the stop to this mystery? Forever changed by your command. Catching comets in your hand. Finding diamonds in the sand. Paradise lost ‘neath these strange lands. Dreams of stardom filled her head. Right down to the souls of her shoes. But she stayed hungry and she stayed wild, And still she lost more than she ever had to lose. Forever changed by your command. Catching comets in your hand. Finding diamonds in the sand. Paradise lost ‘neath these lands. Your every move is in the cards. You never love all that you guard. Your face is soft but your touch is hard. The love in me is just so far – Off of your mind, out from your heart. Lost inside of what you cannot start. Cleaning your closets in the dark. Your master was seen rolling his own cart.

about

These are 2 seperate releases that were recorded both in 2005. The Wormwood Honey E.P. (tracks 1-6) was recorded at The Navy Club in Oshawa, Ontario & at Chris Delong's folks place. The initial bed tracks were botched when we found out too late that there weren't going to be enough inputs on the 16 track recorder to properly track the drums (there were only 8 available inputs and we were recording the whole band live) so we basically had to do a live mix of the drums down to 2 tracks and a lot got lost in the process unfortunately. Still the band was together and the energy was there...
Wormwood Honey was along with myself, Chris Delong (bass), Lindsay Fitzsimmons (keys, vocals), Matt Brady (drums, vocals). It was together from 2004-2005.

Don (tracks 7-10 - there were more songs on the original release but the ones featured here are the keepers) was recorded in my Baba's basement with my brother Peter on drums, and background vocals. We figured out at this point how to record vocals through my Twin Reverb amplifier directly into the cassette 4 track we were using so that we could actually get real spring reverb and tremolo on the vocals finally. With our usual no budget approach in those days, we saw this as a major sonic step forward!!
